"I think we all of a weird fascination with violence. Like when you see a cra wreck and can't look away."
I wasnt sure how I would handle the news.
But, surprisngly, it didn't stir the emotions I was expecting.
Instead one, clear, steady thought sounded in my head:
"This is karma."
Not mine. Nonono.
Yours.
Not the swift kind. I'm well aware that it may take time.
But, somehow, knowing that my name will be cleared.
And knowing that you both will get exactly what you deserve---
is reassuring.
I will not get smug.
I will not get excited.
Because, the universe doesn't reward those qualities.
But, I will be at peace.
Maybe, it'll work. Maybe you'll lve happily ever after.
But, the most important thing I've learned in my four semesters at FSU is Dr. Kilne's simple mantra:
"People don't change."
So, there's that.
And THAT--well, that is enough.
