Those of you who knew my grandmother (and plenty of you did), knew that she was a very accepting, cheerful, generous, spirited, and loud woman. She had an unforgettable laugh, and was always welcoming others into her home for dinner and company. Nobody ever left on an empty stomach or without a smile on their face. She was a positive figure, and someone that I held high and admired.
This past weekend, Joanne's eight year battle with cancer ended on the morning of Saturday, September 23rd. She was a well respected and influential woman in the St.Albert community, and made her mark with each of us during her time. She will be missed unceasingly by all who knew and loved her.
Joanne, how I hate to be here without you, but you know that I love you very much and I know that you loved me the same. I will better my judgement and positive outlook in the way that you did, because I know it would have made you happy. You are the reason that I wear purple and pearls.
