Pop Music Essay v2.0

Once again during my drive into work this-morning, I heard a song that I haven't heard in a pretty long time. I love Crosby, Stills, and Nash (I can give or take Young) and "Love The One Your With" has always been one of my favorite songs.

However, this morning while I was singing along and driving along the Bee Line, I actually found myself disgusted with the words.

Maybe it's because I am older now, and much more cynical of these things, but this song was no longer the happy song it was once to me.

Now it was a horrible song, that slapped me across the face to remind me how unfair life is.

There's a Rose
In a fisted Glove
And the eagle flies with the dove
And if you can't be with the one you love
It's alright
Go ahead and love the one, love the one, love the one your with

For the longest time, I saw these words as more of a "Hey listen, that sucks he broke up with you,. but love the one your with and you'll get over it" But oh no...... these are the words of a cheater.

Thats right, a cheater.

What Mr. Crosby is saying (lets face it, we all know that Crosby is the mastermind of Crosby Stills and Nash), is that if you can't be with the one you're in love with tonight, because you're girlfriend, wife....whomever is at a business meeting, out of town, milking a fucking cow.. who the hll knows where they are at, but since they are not with you... its ok to go ahead and love the one youre with.

She's a girl and your a boy
Get together, make it tonight,
You ain't gonna need no more advice
Just love the one your with

Crosby, I am disappointed in you.
