Nudie pics, please! Well...sorta
Hey everyone! I am calling on a favor for any and everyone who will take up the mantle:
I am taking a new-ish turn in some of my paintings, and I need pictures of people whose faces I know. It's a long, vague, somewhat susceptible to showing up on the bullshit detector explanation, but the gist of it is that I a) am looking to do a series of seeing myself in the people I surround myself with and b) I am somewhat less of a lazy painter when I am emotionally invested in the subject. We don't even have to be super close, the important thing is that we have been face to face before. All of you. Any age, any gender, any body type.
If this sounds like something you could do for me, look under the cut for rules and specifics!

Rules and Requests:
I don't *actually* want naked pics of you guys...that's creepy. Though I may replace your naughty bits with some anonymous ones in the final painting, but I just *know* I would get hung up on grim particulars if I had naked pics of friends looking over my shoulder while I paint. Sorry, I'm just that immature. Still, if you are squeamish about naked body parts with your face on it let me know and I'll make concessions.
Also, I am not going to concentrate on making these realistic portraits, and in fact there is a good chance that I will intentionally exaggerate or distort pieces of you in order to make some obscure underlying theme more apparent (truthy, not facty!). So if your feelings get hurt with the final product you can take solace in the fact that that isn't necessarily what you look like, but that your friend is just a hurtful, selfish, bum. Here's what I'd like:
1. Costumes:
- Ladies: Prefer bra and undies (PLAIN please, no sexy stuff. Unless you want to send that for my own personal use ;D) or two piece swimmy suit. For the more self conscious: a tank top or fited t-shirt and undies/bikini bottom. You can even make judicious use of a sheet, but try not to go all Greek Pantheon on me. I want as much skin as you are comfortable with giving me (up to an pg-13 rating); it's my favorite part to paint! White is the prefered color for *anything* you wear in these pics, but I'm not too worried about it. I can always change it in the painting.
-Gents: Boxers or judicious use of a sheet. Just like for the ladies, not Greek god toga action with the sheet; just something to cover up the junk. The objective is to be able to paint flesh, so don't be stingy. Please no tighty whities; I have a phobia. No, seriously, they make me feel like a pedophile.
-Everyone: No jewelry with the exception of wedding bands and "signature" pieces (i.e. things you wear every. damn. day. Things you don't even take off in the shower) Glasses are ok if you use them pretty much every day. Also, if you have tattoos, I'd really like it if you could try and include them in the shot!
2. Hair and make up:
-NO MAKEUP! Sorry everyone, it's not glamour shots. I want you as you are.
-If you just *cannot* do this without makeup, the only possible exception I can think of is if you wanted to use really obvious make up, like war paint or something. Be judicious, and if you decide to go this route, I'd like you to paint yourself with colors or symbols that mean something to you. I don't need to know what it means, you can keep that to yourself. The idea is to reveal things about you, not to hide behind it.
-No stage make up, either! There is one of you inparticular that I know would paint herself up with amazing, beautiful, jaw dropping, fairytale makeup, but I am going for non-illusion here...sorry!
-Same goes for hair; no one is allowed to spend more than 5 minuites on their hair for this.
3. Poses:
-Try to be natural; no obvious posing for the camera.
-No acting, big toothy smiles, emo melodrama, etc.
-Sitting, standing, reclining, whatever you prefer.
-I like it when the model makes eye contact with the camera, but I am open to other shots...
-Straight on shots are prefered, but feel free to play with angles, too.
-No props, please.
I think that's about it. Please take lots of pics and bundle them up, unaltered, as jpegs in a zip file or something and send them to ____SamanthaDeitz@gmail.com_____ I really, really appreciate any of you who are willing to put yourself out there, and to put up with my silly rules!
