yesterday afternoon i fit into a pair of jeans that didn't fit me the last few times i tried them on. i hart the gym. im going to be a skinny girl soon.
two days ago while i was at the gym i realized that i LOVE jepoardy and that im pretty damn good at it. yay useless trivia.
yesterday while i was at the gym i was watching cnn and i learned that 47% of businesswomen feel left out of informal networks, and a huge reason for this is becuase they are not invited out on informal networking excursions, like playing golf. i decided that i will not be left out becuase i can't play golf. its been my fathers dream since i was a small child that i learn to play golf, and so this afternoon he is takign me to the driving range and im going to learn to play golf this summer YES I AM. im going to control my temper and my frustrations with failure (which is why i couldn't handle playing golf when i tried at age 14... i freaked out when i didn't hit the ball right) and im going to be a skinny successful business executive.

i am sort of temping for manpower and the other day i temped at the umass medical school in worcester and a few things happened:
a) i met a girl from umass who knows seth rowell becuase she lives on the 24 hour quiet floor in brooks. neato. she was nice, i guess.
b) i realized about an hour after i got there that dan worked in that building. what reminded me? this banner i was standing near that used the slogan "the pipet people" and i remember than dan said all he did at his job was pipet for hours on end. i wanted to text him but i was really visible and i thought that my supervisor wasn't 20 years old from indiana and married and i thought that she cared. oops.
c) it didn't matter though, becuase after awhile dan actually walked by and didn't even notice me at first as i waved at him and called his name. he acutally did a double take and then was like "what are you DOING here" even though it was really obvious that i was working a vendor show that was handing out free lunch. he used the vendor show for free lunch.

its morning now, but last night at work i had two patients of interest. the first one was really cute becuase he was only 25 but he was married. he did not say a word to me. i think people regard me as unprofessional simply becuase im so young. bitches.
the second patient of interest was this old guy who suffers from just about every diseas imaginable, including blindness in one eye, the inability to feel his left lowerleg/foot, as well as diabetes, high blood pressure, acid reflux, depression, and mild short term memory loss. he's also about 65lbs overweight. i thought he'd probably have sleep apnea, but when we actually ran the test we found that he did not go past stage 2 at ALL, and that his O2 sats were below 80 for most of the time and even got below 60 a little bit. when i put him on cpap the pressure was so high that i had to switch to bipap and even with the HIGHEST SETTING his o2 sats were still really low and i almost considered putting him on a liter of oxygen. i might have if he had woken up. the guy went into rem immediately when i put him on cpap...the point of this story is that this was almost definitley the first time he's gone into rem in a long time.
i helped a guy dream for the first time in AGES. go me.
ok im done with the sleep talk.
but i do have a little more to say about work. last night i worked with Dora who no one likes and i never really understood why until tonight: she took the two beds that i like by coming in early and just putting her patietns information in front of them. i was ok with that, until she came in and turned the TV on opressively loud, and took every fan (4 massive fans) out and put them all on high and turned the lights off becuase it was two hot. it was a breezy 73 degrees, and i was actually pretty cold and she insisted that they remain on. fucking dora and her fucking hot flashes.
and THEN she decides that all night infomercials are whats hot to watch. so i sat and watched infomercials for the dumbest things,a nd of course becuse the fans are so loud the TV has to be louder and even though im trying to read its still unbelievably loud. so good thing im well versed in how SmartWare works in case i ever decide to cook.
she also wouldn't let me near the bleach or acetone so everything i was supposed to clean remained dirty and sticky for tomorrows tech. awesome.
bitch.
and now some sleep. ive earned it.
beach monday with heidi wooo!:-)
