(no subject)
i saw a umass person! i really really did!!
I am at the hospital in the daytime for the first time -- im filling in for the secretary stephanie becuase she is on vacation, and so basically im bonding with my boss (Beth, the best boss in the world with the only possible exception of Sarah Coty, my Visitors Center boss at school. Beth used to teach me Sunday school when i was little, she is good friends with my mother, and she basically got me this job. She is just so sweet and kind and talkative and she has a son my age and a daughter mackenzie's age and i sort of know them both and OH shes just a really great boss), and answering phones and scheduling patients and faxing - god i must have already faxed 364897325324890 things and its only 1 o'clock.
So anyway, i went down to take my lunch break and as i was walking into the cafeteria out walks a guy i worked with at the Visitors Center. We used to see each other in passing ALL THE TIME at school so it at first it was completely normal to see him and say hi and keep walking and we both did but one step later we realized that it wasn't normal and stopped to chat a little bit. He works downstairs in the medical office and basically runs errands for doctors. It was good to see a familiar face, although i wish i remembered his name. Justin, i think, and im about 60% sure he's from Holliston, but maybe Natick or maybe those were other people altogether.
So yeah...
And i'll admit it, i really am guilty of not updating in a long time. I try, i really do, but im just not always especially interested.
To be fair, though i was in new hampshire for a good 4 days, and i've been working ever since.
New hampshire: wonderful. Friday night we got there late (after a slight fender bender involving synae's car and a bmw z3. funny part about the drivers of that car: they mentioned that they had an 18 year old son and they are relocating from illinois and i told my sister that in conversation and shes all "oh i know him. Yeah he plays baseball. i met him at a party a couple weeks ago." Small world huh? So anyway, yeah. it was no good but these things happen and everyone was okay.) and went to sleep, and the following morning and afternoon we had loads of water fun! We swam and tanned and read, and kayaked and JETSKIED. SO fun -- i have never been before but it was a great time. First Taj and i went and i drove and we fell off and she laughed at me but then she drove and we FLEW off and we laughed together and told the boys and they laughed at us. I also went with greg and that was really fun becuase he's so big that all i had to do was hang on tight and we were getting air but not falling off like taj and i were. Good times all around. We also did the boat ride thing and established that we were all incredibly sunburned. That evening the house was Aloe Central, let me tell you.
Once chris's dad left with the little girls the real fun began -- i forgot how nice it was to just have a drink with dinner and not worry about it. We had coronas and sat out on the porch drinking them and playing cards. When school starts all i want to do is sit on the adp porch and drink coronas. I have that one wish. (Also, i sort of wish that axo wasn't a dry house and that at the very least we had a porch, but thats irrelevent).
So yeah, we cooked for ourselves and got slightly drunk and incredibly high and enjoyed each others company whilst playing cards and other assorted games, and nursed our sunburns and other muscle injuries caused by the jetski, and it was absolutely lovely.
We've pretty much established the fact that i work (at night) with asshole bigots but i'd like to reestablish that. Actually, its really only Tuesday that i am surrounded by them -- monday and wednesday nights its a half and half. Half asshole (steve) and half VERY low key and cool and unopinionated (Denise and Brian). Brian and his wife both work at the Swim & Tennis club, i found out, which is neatO because i a) used to work there and b) belong there and try to work out most days. Small world this is.
Last night we went to Dave Bogaty's house and hung out and broke out the home videos including the one of the Elephant Child. "I know all about spankings". Indeed.
