Once again I've totally neglected my LJ for many months. Maybe because there hasn't been too many noteworthy events. Or it could be that there has been and I'm just too damn lazy. Anyway, I'm home for the summer. To get some up to speed, my Dad had a heart attack two weeks ago, and a second one last Sunday. He had double bypass surgery on Monday, and came home yesterday afternoon. He's doing ok for now, but he has many months of recovery ahead of him.
I've been reunited with my guitars, and although the blisters on my fingers are reemerging, I really don't care, because I can play again. Speaking of which, I'm going to attempt to record another mini-album this summer, although I haven't written much yet for it. College just wasn't a good environment for writing for me, (as evidenced by the lack of LJ entries) which made a lot of time go to waste. Anyway, I hope I'll be able to make something that will make me forget about the thing I made last summer. I'm hoping for better sound quality, and even better songs. We shall see...
Being home for a few days makes the first year of college almost seem like it was a dream and it never happened. I guess it's just because I'm so lucky to have a place where I feel so at home. The first year was a bit boring, and nothing like I expected. I was just starting to get cozy in the last two or three months. I think only a few things about me changed, and they were for the better so I'm not complaining. Next year will kick ass though. I'll be living with cool people in a suite in a new building, I'll be taking production classes, I'll go out for more film shoots, and I'll have a guitar with me.
I'm currently in the process of throwing away a bunch of old and unnecessary shit from my room, which is good because it gives me something to do, and makes for a cleaner living space. Next Thursday I'm going to the Maryland Film Festival, which is a pleasant suprise.
Anyway, maybe this huge entry will make up for the past three months. I promise to update more over the summer. Baltimore people get in touch with me about hanging out. Believe it or not I actually want to go out sometime...
