Slightly belated entry

This is a little belated (meant to be posted last Saturday)
I worked for about 3 and half hours at my practicum on Friday, which was an assembly and a spirit day. The school recently voted on pink and black as their new school colors so all the kids were decked out with school spirit. Now, this may sound normal to some of you, but please keep in mind that these are all boys with severe behavioral problems and emotional disturbance. They are the kids who have basically been kicked out of their home schools for their behavior, and they were all decked out in ridiculous pink and black outfits. It was awesome. One boy had on pink fuzzy slippers, another had a pink girly t-shirt that said, "Stop Following Me", and another had on hot pink swim trunks and a pink bandana. Oh, and there was another variety of students who had taken construction paper to build pink and black helmets, arm bands and other accessories. I guess it was just nice to see the so called "tough" kids decked out in the girliest color you could think of. It was also nice to see them as just kids, and recognizing them for doing good as opposed to bad, which is really what they had been used to prior to this school.

Also, random observations about St. Patrick's Day include: Turning a drink green automatically makes it Irish (and more fun to consume), Dancing on top of benches and in crowded bars is ridiculous and fun, live Irish music rocks, never go to Pita Pit after normal dinner hours (this is more of a life observation than a St. Patricks Day one) otherwise the following things might happen to you, 1. Drunk people might try to hug and/ or kiss you, 2. Drunk people might moan, say, "baby oh baby" and begin rubbing themselves while looking out the window at someone outside, 3. Some random person might take your photo directly after you exit the bathroom.

PS Katie and I watched Hairspray tonight. So campy and so funny!
