epic
epic
tonight was the last night of work at the factory for me before i head back to Canada. tonight my co-workers all pitched in together and had a party for me. all the women on my shift brought food. some of the men paid to help them with this and as such were entitled to their share.

anyway so i spend the whole morning baking them all cookies, unaware of the fact that they were planning anything other than a card. i get to work and find enough food to feed the whole factory once over, complete with cake and pop. i'm quite surprised.

my first break i get to start the eating before everyone else as it is all for me. the food is all delicious and since there is so much the woman's locker room door is opened to let the men know that they can come and share in the wealth of food we had. which they did. all at once. they actually pretty much cleared the place out in a few hours.
i love these people. thye have been my world for the past four months
my second break i try any food that i haven't and talk with some of the people in the locker room with me. the food is wearing thin at this point and the locker room door is closed but men are still coming for more.
i know i won't be going to England. i'm coming back here to them
my third break i come into the locker room to find a card. just as i sit down to read it i get yelled at (not really) to cut the cake which said "Good Luck Karolina". so i cut it. and ate it (it was sooo sweet!) and THEN read the card. which was also sweet. and full of signatures, some of which i didn't recognize but a lot of which i did and they made me smile so much.
England will always be there. these people may not be
in between all my breaks i was constantly approached by people i talked to a lot, as well as people i don't talk to at all, and wished countless good lucks with school. i was also asked if i'd be coming back next summer and i had a story to tell about that of course. in the end i got more goodbyes then i'd ever think, a couple of hugs and fake tears (which made me laugh a lot), an address to send letters to, a request for a postcard to be sent to the factory, and my boss asking if i'd be available for Christmas if they needed anyone.
i'd rather spend my time knowing their hearts then knowing places
now i am really going to miss everyone. i didn't think it would be this hard to leave work but i realized that even if i didn't like the actual work i loved the people i work with. they are what's going to be hard to leave. that and all their wonderfulness.
i'll be back
hence tonight being epic
