Me and my darling
snape_fan_no_1 are playing a little game in an attempt to revitalise our muses.
10 random songs from my playlist. 10 one-shots.
Sounds easy-peasy, right? Of course, it's not been a complete success yet, but you never know, I may actually finish something I've started for once.
Currently there are three ready for publication (and by ready for

LOVELY piece for Havemercy. I spent most of it (when I wasn't going, "Ooh, imagery!") going, "AGH, WHO IS IT", which was vastly more intriguing that you might think. (Like... one of those elimination games. (Because, sadly, I have not memorized all the dragons. I know. For shame.)) But yes - I am one of those (apparently) very unusual people who does not seem to be able to imagine everyone in the Dragon Corps paired up with one another, but... very nicely done. I especially appreciated extra insight to Compagnon (who mostly I just love for the "and he's made of metal, so he can go all night long" line), even if it's not canon. I LOVE VIEWING CHARACTERS IN NEW WAYS.
But yes. Beautiful. Depressing. Well-written. What more could you ask for?
(Oh, and I am totally on with the opera song thing. I mean, Dome Epais (aka, that French duet about the jasmine flowers and swans and OMG SO GIRLY) came on my shuffle list, and, of course, what did I immediately think? "OH MY GOD, THIS WOULD MAKE SUCH A GREAT ROOK DRABBLE." So yeah. I totally hear you.)

I never really imagined Compagnon/Ivory. I just asked my friend to name me two of the Dragon riders and I was going to write something Gen to do with that 'Final Charge' to Lapis; then I must've drunk something funny, because this spilled out!
Opera makes me do crazy things...
I'm really really glad you liked it and can't thank you enough for leaving feedback. Every little helps.

I mean, is anyone else incredibly baffled by how, given fourteen the most manly, badass guys EVER, we are all suddenly desperately trying to pair them all up with one another? Or is that just me? (Also, I love how Royston seems to have turned into the whore of Volstov. I mean... REALLY.) (Though if you think about it, jokes about being a "delicate flower" aside, in the book Hal really is the one kind of... well, trying to sexily manipulate Royston along. So much as that phrase can actually be applied to, say, reading and head massages. BUT IT'S SO TRUE.)
Btdubs - I was skimming back through your original post and... Muse made a cover of Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You? Seriously? I mean... SERIOUSLY? I would go watch that right now, except I'm at school, so it'll have to wait, but WHAAAAAAAT.
And sure thing!
