I feel like I should probably introduce myself. I'm Dylan, I frequent tumblr, I just recently remade an LJ (I used to use it a ton before tumblr, I was a member of demi_selena, lol) I saw a post about this community, I think it was in the Sam & Cat tag. But yeah, I'm 23, so a little older than the intended demographic for the show. I'm an ftm transgender dude, too, it should probably be mentioned because I'm sure most will assume I'm female.
I'll definitely reblog that ad or whatever you want to call it for this comm on tumblr tomorrow; I'm already getting some of my followers interested in the show. Nice to meet you, too, I hope it's okay I followed you on tumblr. I use that more, but that may change. I think Schneider's writing & humor brings older folks into his shows a little more than most other similarly targeted Nick & Disney shows...
!!!! oh, wow, thank you! you're super sweet, aahhh! it's definitely alright -- followed you back! and i definitely agree with you about dan's writing; some of his jokes are definitely intended for a slightly older audience. i like the wittiness of his jokes, though i sometimes wonder how he gets away with them.
I have a habit of being very sweet, perhaps to the point of being annoying (and also too nice/getting walked over, lalala this isn't relevant sorry) and awesome! I agree, I don't know how he gets away with some of the stuff he does. I was really pleased by the That's a Drag premise..as a transgender guy that was kind of cool, and the fact that Nick didn't have a problem with it. I think as time goes on Nick and Disney both are becoming more open-minded in their shows so maybe that's why they can get away with certain jokes sometimes. (Well...Spongebob makes a lot of inappropriate jokes as well, arguably more than any of Schneider's shows.)
nope, definitely not annoying! x) and i know! i was so happy about them being able to call a show like "that's a drag" popular. it was definitely a huge step forward in terms of exposure on children's shows. i think that's one of the reasons why i am usually a fan of dan's shows; he's always very progressive and open-minded, which is great. i'd argue that, with robbie, he was trying to hint towards him being a gay character -- that is, until the cabbie ship sailed. (spongebob's jokes are definitely some of the most inappropriate i've seen, aha. sometimes i'll catch one and be like -- whoa.)
Well, thanks. And Yes! Dan is great that way. I'm a big fan, honestly, I loved every single one of his shows, except one I saw mentioned on Wikipedia that I've never heard of...I'd say that's a HUGE possibility. I keep thinking of the scene with Beck and Robbie and the car, Robbie was often hitting on Beck -- I shipped them, ha. Cabbie was cute but not overly interesting. (Yeah, Spongebob...hahahaha. That's one of my many reasons I still watch it when I see that it's on.)
i think the one no one's heard of aired off nickelodeon? i'm pretty sure it had something to do with amanda bynes...don't quote me on that, though, i have no idea. i also shipped beck/robbie! i still ship beck/robbie. it's a huge problem, actually. cabbie was never appealing to me -- the only robbie ships i was ever overtly fond of were robbie/jade and robbie/beck, aha.
No I saw What I Like About You, lol, I loved that show, that's not the one I meant! I wasn't into Robbie/Jade, I was too into Jade/Cat and Jade/Tori for that. lmao. I swear I like straight ships sometimes.
then i definitely have no idea, haha! i liked jade/cat, not a huge fan of jade/tori -- i felt like after dan figured out the fandom liked it he started pushing it down our throats. i wish there had been more cat/tori, honestly. they were adorable. LOL a few years back, i used to never ship straight pairings, or girl/girl pairings, but now i ship literally everything that has any kind of chemistry. haha.
