[His writing looks oddly familiar, but it’s a little sloppier. For those older residents of the Sphere, they will probably recognize this writing.]So a whole colony with its people sans memories of their homes. I would say that was interesting, but I just want to know how to get them back. Maybe some of you don’t have things to do back home, but I ( Read more... )

The only way I know of to recover memories is through the use of memory crystals-- but they seem to be rather rare commodities.

[lol that writing...he takes longer to write a response.]

If they are a rare commodity, there's probably some bastard who is willing to make a buck off selling them.

[SRY 2 SAY, DYAD IS OBLIVIOUS.]

Perhaps, though I haven't heard anything of the like. They seem to appear spontaneously... and many people wish for their memories again, so I'm not sure how many would sell them.

That's a large generalization you're making there. Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

There's always someone willing to profit off the misfortune of others.

Hence why I said 'Perhaps'.

Misfortune?

How long have you been here?

Most would say losing all their memories is a misfortune. Maybe to some it's a blessing in disguise. Don't tell me, you're glad you don't remember?

That I can remember, since January. I was told I was here for nearly two years prior to that, though.

That's a difficult decision to make with no knowledge of what said memories entailed. I would like to remember, of course, but I also appreciate many of the things that being here has brought me.

Told?

It's not difficult. It's a yes or no question, unless you wanted to handpick your memories. Oh? And what good things have you got here? So far this place has pissed me off in more ways than I thought possible.

As I said, I can only remember being here since January. Occasionally people die, or disappear, and return without their memories.

Then no, I'm not glad to have lost my memories. And here I've found a number of friends and people that have made what could have been a difficult experience much easier.

And what about you? What happened to you?

I'm sure you bond with them over the amnesia.

...I'm unsure.

Over many things. Despite the loss of memories, we've yet to lose who we truly are.

[Arghhh. He'll just be more frustrated >/]

Don't doubt yourself. There's no point, and it just wastes energy.

Without memories to guide us, we have to find out own ways. It isn't bad, though. To be honest, the disappearances are more frustrating than the lack of memories.

It sounds like you've had people disappear on you.
