Progress!

I have made a lot of progress on my to-do list for Lily. Since my last (costume-related) post, I have:
-hemmed my kirtle
-finished the fur collar and cuffs and applied them to the gown
-hemmed the gown (it's done!)
-hemmed both pennons and sewed on the ties
-made the hennin (though I did a quick-and-dirty version with buckram and duct tape - if I have time I'll add wire to it for more stability)
-dyed silk fabric for placket, belt and favors
-changed out the blue bias tape on Kevin's coif for white

The end is sight, I think - I still have to sew the placket, belt and favors, but I don't think those will take long - or, I should say, the machine sewing will go quickly. I'll have some hand finishing to do, but I think I can knock that out in a couple of evenings. I also plan to make a sheer partlet and a veil for the hennin, and those are going to need to be hand-hemmed, which will also take an evening or so. So, really, I might be done with sewing by Wednesday (especially if Kevin takes the boy to the gym with him this evening). How crazy would that be?!

I should put a lid on it - as soon as I dare to think I might finish early, something horrible will happen and I'll be up all night Friday.

Looks like the weather should be OK - cloudy and high of 60 or so. Good for the layers of wool and fur I'll be wearing, but, fingers crossed, no rain.
