I must say, very uplifting hahaha.

But seriously, you're right in that every empire, in time, falls, and falls hard. However, times have changed. Yes, we are very capable of collapsing, and eventually, it's bound to happen. But, I don't believe we will end the same as most others in our history.

1) Because we aren't an empire, technically.

2) Almost all of those dominions were eradicated due to external force [i.e. invasion].

They lacked so many things we have today that prevent foreign invasions from occurring, most importantly, geography. Rome was surrounded by Germanic nations harboring extreme discontent with their brutal war tactics. All we have is Canada and Mexico. As much as Canadians may claim to hate America, they depend heavily on us, and they are hardly considered threatening. China, I believe, had terrible internal incursions that aided in downfall of numerous dynasties. It didn't just.. end. Sure, we may be bombed or attacked, but our foundation will never cease to remain, there are far too many in this country who hold the ideals of God given liberties and truths. As corrupt as our government leaders may become, we shall remain a democracy nonetheless, with a nation full of people who support the constitution wholeheartedly. The people are still the ones who decide, not a solitary man or woman. Nor is there a room full of officials who make our choices for us. Quite frankly, I'm more worried about the deterioration of the human race as a whole more than I am about our country in particular. But yea, we would need a LARGE number of very disturbed elected officials and then would have to become extremely susceptible to domination, which, I think, is very far from how things are now, and will continue to be. Yeah, that was a bit longer than I wanted it to be haha.

However, an ending is eminent. I mean, we can't avoid it. ALL good things must come to an end. You must take this into consideration, though: we are very young. I mean, you realize how LONG the Roman empire lasted? The united states is still in it's infantry if you compare it to China.. or the Aztecs, Byzantines, Greeks, or any of those others who lasted for hundreds upon thousands of years. [sans USSR]

OK IVE GOT TOO MUCH HOMEWORK TO BE TYPING ALL THIS SO THE END

WOWOWOWOWOWOW
wut an ownage comment - i understand all ur points which were very well thought out and applicable to the situation - wut a nerd ANNIE - HAHAHAHA jp i am too
anyway - ur points r very good - but i must add this to me argument:
in recent times sectional rifts are becoming deeper and more tense - the biggest and most destructive is between the religious and the secular - this division makes it extremely hard to solidly come to an active conclusion on a situation - no matter how firm the base
also this strong base has become weaker due to the addition of people who just dont care - mainly the huge influx of immigrants from latin america and other places that do not care about such - these growin minorities or latins and blacks mostly cause more issues than they solve - also the whole culture is becomin more lazy and unopinionated on important issues
finally this war has exhausted many resources that should be put towards education and children programs in general to help our degrading youths - soldiers and money are being wasted there while younger kids are crammed into overstuffed and underfunded classes that put them in direct contact with others that could harm their future

Ok, first off, to the Anon!:

I am deeply sorry that I offended you with my serious and political demeanor. I know how easily offended you are by intellectual conversation, and how discussions with even remote depth just don't rub you the right way. I should have known, that was an error on my behalf. But hmm, perhaps you should re-read Dan's journal, and then, maybe, if you are capable of any sort of comprehension whatsoever, you will realize that the entry itself has a "serious and political" tone. Oh, and also, my sincerest apologies for sounding.. oh, what's the word? Oh yes, proper. Where have I heard THAT before? I know how severe of an offense that is, and it was a mistake to try and maintain sufficient grammar and punctuation throughout the reply. Ah, rather, I will resort to my instinctual writing habits [i.e. u no dis ez shyt, lolz], maybe then I can get my point across more clearly? That makes sense, doesn't it? I'm glad we both agree. It was really nice speaking to you again, you never fail to make excellent points, my friend. Keep up the good work!

ok and SALVET.
I most certainly agree, the massive amounts of immigrants coming in is diluting the nationalism that is essential to keeping the foundation of this country alive. Along with their families and culture [which aren't minded], they bring along their passion for their homeland, rather than adopting a sense of Americanism. Support for the country you presently reside in is extremely important. The more people who live here but just don't care, the more problems will arise.

The war issue. Oy, don't get me started. I have yet to see proof of educational funds declining because of this war. What I have seen is a new democracy that has sprung up in the heart of the most terrorist-ridden region on the planet. Hmm, and I think we saved an entire nation full of children from the harm of growing up in a country led by a diabolical leader with nothing but disgusting and evil intent. I dunooooooooooooo, It balances out, in my eyes.
