[Kratos arrived here in his Renegade outfit, but he refuses to wear it in a public place such as this without a reason for it. Luckily, whoever's house he woke up in had clothes that fit him perfectly, and so he left his armor behind and dressed himself in another outfit, one that most everyone would recognize as his usual mercenary outfit ( Read more... )

[We're still afraid of you... but we need answers.]

K-Kratos... I wasn't lying about Lloyd. I miss him, too. I'm sorry.

[And we still want to kill you.]

... What was it that I told you earlier?

...I know what you said. But the Kratos I knew never wanted to kill me! I just need to know why...!

Because you are my enemy. That is all you need to know.

[Now where have we heard that before - OH YES.]

...You're a Renegade!?

[Colette seems to be far ahead of his time... An odd thing to process, but that means it's probably pointless to hold back information like this.] ... I am the leader of the Renegades. I take it you know what that means in regards to your position to me.

It doesn't have to work that way, though! Lloyd and the others convinced me that there was another way! I didn't have to be killed by anyone for the world to be saved...!

Absurd. There hasn't been a way to stop Yggdrasill's twisted plans for centuries.

But we did! We defeated Yggdrasill, and then Lloyd used the Eternal Sword to reunite the two worlds and revive the Great Seed! Now we have a new Giant Tree, everyone has enough mana, and we've been working hard for two years to fix what Cruxis did!

[There's a scoff here.] And how could Lloyd wield the Eternal Sword? Only a half elf can do such a thing. [Unless the Eternal Ring was made, but Kratos has been so focused on keeping Lloyd out of it all that he hadn't bothered to try making one yet.]

You made the Eternal Ring for him. It used aionis, so he could wield it. [She feels more confident now.] I know it's hard to believe, but we did it. And it was all thanks to you and Lloyd.

[It's believable... And it's something he might even do when he gets back. But first there are other matters. Such as killing the Chosen so that Yggdrasill can't get his paws on her while he's busy doing that.]

That sounds far too much like a fairy tale. We are not heroes or anything of the sort. We only do what we can to ensure that Yggdrasill's plans won't see completion.

And the best way to do that... is to kill you.

[Okay, now you just made her mad.]

You're wrong! Lloyd is a hero, and so were you! Mithos -- Yggdrasill is gone! He's not even here in Luceti!

If you attack me... I will fight back. I have a life to live! I'm going to protect our world, I'm going to get married and I'm going to live! Everyone sacrificed too much for me to let you hurt me...!

... I've always felt pity for you Chosens. Being born into life, only to be destined for an early death. It's worse when they're told of their fate as soon as they're old enough to understand. And not a single person in the world has caught on to Yggdrasill's true goal. If they did... Perhaps this foolishness wouldn't continue. But people's hearts won't open enough to accept this.

Thus, we do the only other thing we can do.

I won't take your life here. There are too many other matters to focus on. But know this... Once I've returned home, I won't be so merciful.

I don't want you to pity me, Kratos. I'm free now. And I will be in whatever world you come from, too. Because I believe in Lloyd, and Zelos, and all of my friends!
