If circumstances were impossible to bend, would you still fight against it? If fate was already written for you, how would you change it?

Finally... Would these actions be considered wise or foolish?

Of course I would.

...And half my friends would think I was being stupid. The other half would probably be trying to do the same thing.

Even though your actions may prove to be fruitless?

So what? At least I'd have tried. If I just did nothing then I'd know what the end would be.

Then even if the situation never changed, if fate was never broken... the fact that you fought and tried with all your being is enough.

Yeah. It's gotta be.

...And it's not like I know the future anyway. Maybe I did change something.

Hm... perhaps you're right.

Why're you asking?

This village - this prison we're locked into, the constant experiments and kidnappings... It is much the same way.

...I see what you mean. But doesn't that mean we just have to start trying?

People have been trying before I even arrived.

And every time there's been something to get in our way. ...But we're good at finding ways around stuff like that. We saved the world by doing that.

We just gotta figure out how to get everyone to do it together.

Heh... Reuniting the two worlds seems so simple compared to the trials of a village.

[you were absent for most of it, off doing your stoic angel things. Don't even start]

But it wasn't simple when we were doing it.

[Hey now. This guy was running around behind your backs and helping you. He knows plenty about this. 8|]

And yet there was still that goal in mind, a goal that you and the others knew to be reachable.

So you think the problem is that no one thinks breaking free of the Malnosso is reachable.

Exactly. In the past, rallying against the Malnosso and even trying to find those who were kidnapped by them was a common sight. Look around you now. When someone is kidnapped, all everyone thinks to do is hope they'll return and prepare for it. It's been months since I've seen someone attempt to gather a group to bring the Malnosso down.

It seems the only time we as a whole come together is when a particularly disastrous experiment has fallen upon us. The villagers have grown unmotivated by their constant failures.
