good clean fun
today has been pretty freakin' awesome so far. i started things off by sleeping in, which is always good. i had a jazz band gig at the edmonds market, and i must say, it went fantastically. we played several excellent charts including groovin' hard, which is like the coolest and most fun big band chart EVER (especially for the saxes). we also played an awesome arrangement of a night in tunisia, which went on for almost half an hour with several excellent solos. i got to solo and have a "battle" of sorts with the tenor player (a good friend of mine). i was listening to the recording i made of the gig, and it sounds pretty awesome. and after the gig, when i was packing up my horn, my friend came up to me and told me that he got some tickets to see coldplay on the 16th (and they're like 4th row seats), and asked me if i wanted to go. naturally, i did want to go. so, i checked my calendar (i hate that word) and it's good to go. so i'm really pumped. and tonight i get to see my sister in a musical she's doing this summer over in west seattle called "a chorus line." it should be awesome. i'm REALLY looking forward to it. i'm sure she'll do really well. it's her chance to show me that i didn't steal all of the talent genes while in the womb. it'll be awesome. i'm sure of it.
