... I just realized that I never updated in November.  WHOOP.  I thought for sure I did. I think posting at the end of October got me messed up.  Ah well. I'm gonna try for a 12/12 in 2015.

Just wanted to drop of an end of the year survey, really.  Not much else to say.  Opened up my Christmas stuff already, it's all quite nice.  I'm especially happy for getting the Breaking Bad complete series and the Looney Tunes Golden Collection box set.  Walter White and Bugs Bunny? Perfect.

Anyhoo, survey!

1. What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
Not work outside the house, I guess.   I mean, I haven't done that since 2003.  It's kinda weird.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?  Didn't make any, beyond to try and go out and find a path for myself, which I didn't so there's that.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?  Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?  No.
5. What countries did you visit? Not even the ones in Epcot.
6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?  A "something".  Maybe some friends to make or just something to give myself to do.  I'm not unhappy, but I'm not happy either, and that's troublesome.
7. What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?   None, really.  Maybe July 21, since I spent that day in the hospital waiting for my Mom's surgery to be done. That's the only one that really stands out right now.  Maybe August 11, for Robin Williams' passing and the sense of community that formed around that day.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?  Just making enough money sitting at my desk at home to at least pay my bills and such. I haven't done much this year, so sue me.
9. What was your biggest failure?  Not acting more.  Becoming a little too comfortable.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?  No, not really.  No more theme park germs here.
11. What was the best thing you bought?  Theater tickets.  I got to see Mandy Patinkin in concert, plus some great shows (Company, Candida, Singing in the Rain, Evita, Spamalot, something else that I'm forgetting. Oh, and not theater, but seeing Gilbert Gottfriend again was nice too.)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?   I don't know, honestly.  Nothing really speaks to mind in the sense of being admirable.  People I care about did some good things, but nothing stands out right now.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?  Society.  Holy shit, society.
14. Where did most of your money go?  Bills and nonsense.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?  Seeing Mandy Patinkin live. Amazing.
16. What song will always remind you of 2014?  "Rainbow High" from Evita.  For whatever reason, I started listening to it a lot after I saw the show.  Patti's fierceness is everything.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter.
iii. richer or poorer?  About the same, really.  Still have no real expenses and no real money, so...
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?  Motiving myself.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?  Distracting myself with stuff.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent Christmas Eve with family, and will be doing the same on Christmas Day.  Hoping to finish playing Donkey Kong Country 3 as well.
22. Did you fall in love in 2014?  Of course not.
23. How many one-night stands?  None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?   Bob's Burgers.  I also watched Orange is the New Black and fell in love with it.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?   Nope.
26. What was the best book you read?  I re-read the Harry Potter series.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?  Weirdly, the Evita soundtrack, though I had it on my computer for years. I just never really listened to it before.
28. What did you want and get?  A Wii U and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (my HEART.  It's so good)
29. What did you want and not get?  A sense of purpose.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?  Muppets Most Wanted.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  28.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?  A little more company.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?  Lots of sweaters.
34. What kept you sane?  Netflix, YouTube Let's Players, doing crafts.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?  Mandy Patinkin. Lucahjin.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?  Gun control, because of just everything.
37. Who did you miss?  Friends I haven't seen in a long time.
38. Who was the best new person you met?  No one. I don't really think I met anyone new this year, beyond passing interactions.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014.   Time does heal a lot of wounds, but basking in simply having time doesn't necessarily equal fulfillment.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "Donkey Kong!"  As in Tropical Freeze and the way the name is sung when you boot it up.  I don't have a good answer to this right now, sorry.
