Hello. Have an end of the year survey. It is far too cold outside and I plan to stay in hiding until the end of winter.
That is all.
I mean, other than the survey. :|
1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
Earned money online by crowdsourcing. It's a nice source of extra income when I need it.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Not sure I remember making any. But I probably didn't.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No, though both my father and my aunt came really close.
5. What countries did you visit? I haven't left this country in a long time. Sigh.
6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013? A sense of actual purpose. A career path. Some money in savings.
7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I don't remember dates very well. I'll remember December 17, as the day I arrived back in PA. Beyond that, no specific date is screaming at me.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Leaving FL, I guess? Making the decision to move away from a place where I wasn't happy and essentially start over. Moving home isn't the hardest decision in the world, either, but it's definitely involving me making sacrifices and committments that I could have avoided in favor of staying safe and secure.
9. What was your biggest failure? Letting my career go further down the toilet and taking down my future that much more.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I was sick a lot, for sure. I felt my mental health slip quite a bit as well, which some anti-depressants and therapy helped. It's a work in progress.
11. What was the best thing you bought? I'm going to say my train ticket out of FL. It's symbolically appropriate.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My Mom's, for holding together through having to take care of 2 very ill family members, deal with my issues, and worry about her own ailing health.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? My own, in a lot of ways. Disney Guests. The sea of humanity as a whole, sometimes.
14. Where did most of your money go? Food and rent.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Being done with my time as a cast member. Moving on. Playing Portal 2 with Amber.
16. What song will always remind you of 2013? Adele's "Make You Feel My Love," as for some reason I've been listening to it constantly since I got home.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer in that I have less bills, poorer in that I have less income. I'll go with about even.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Saving, planning, writing, focusing.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Being wrapped up in my own head, being emotional, being alone.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I had dinner with my family, then spent the rest of the evening alternating between watching Arrested Development and watching Archer.
22. Did you fall in love in 2013? Nope.
23. How many one-night stands? Nope.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Breaking Bad. Then Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, Archer, Bob's Burgers, and Doc McStuffins (it's cute...)
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nope.
26. What was the best book you read? A biography of James A. Garfield, "Destiny of the Republic" by Candace Millard. I also loved reading the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. I've been reading more as the year ends, which is great.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I'm starting to love Sara Bareilles. And Lenka.
28. What did you want and get? Car repairs. A new TV (which I didn't actively want or ask for, but my Mom decided to get me). A new start. A 3Ds.
29. What did you want and not get? Sudden magical redemption, I guess?
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Saving Mr. Banks.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I went to the Orlando Science Center and Red Robin with Amber. I turned 27.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Extra income.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013? Mostly Toy clothes.
34. What kept you sane? Watching Netflix and distracting myself.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? My favorites of the year are probably Bryan Cranston, Will Arnett, and someone I'm definitely forgetting.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Nothing really did, honestly, as sad as it is.
37. Who did you miss? My family, almost, for the first time in forever. And now the friends that are back in FL.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Probably my Animation Courtyard co-workers.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013. Moving on can be beneficial. It's okay to ask for help. There's more to me than what I've already done.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Let it go" will work nicely.
