Trip Report (I guess?)

Sep 23, 2011 22:42

I had a really nice time today, messing around WDW.  I should do that more often, no?

Finally deciding to get off of my lazy ass, I set out to DHS around 2:30. Got there at maybe 2:45, parked, blah blah.  Now, I didn't intend to go to DHS at all; I wanted to go to Epcot, so I walked over there (I hadn't done that walk in years; I love it, humidity be damned). Glad I brought my umbrella, since it rained pretty heavily for a good part of the trek.  Took my damn time and stopped to look at stuff a few times, so it took me a good 40 minutes to get over there.

Went to the shop at International Gateway and bought a water (did I mention the damn humidity?), and a 40th anniversary magnet.  Browsed around Japan (because one must); I really, really want the Yoshi wallet that they sell. It's so damn cute.  Ugh, damn Japanese, trying to get me to spend money!  I did buy some Pucca chocolate over there, because I always buy something food-related in Japan.

Went over to the American Adventure next, because it had been a damn long time.  The Captain America merchandise mixed in with the traditional American stuff made me laugh a lot.  Saw the Voices of Liberty, who are eternally flawless.  Here, if you don't believe me:

The video description is accurate: they sound great here, but it's NOTHING on actually being under the dome with them, with the great acoustics.  I sat on the edge of that red circle on the ground and man, I could have sat there all day listening to them.  I really, really need to see them more often.

Saw the American Adventure attraction, which is again fantastic.  I can't figure out how the hell it all works, with all the different animatronic set pieces and stuff.  Geez. XDD

Perused Italy and Germany before getting a meal in China (expensive ass shrimp fried rice, but it was tasty).  Texted with vaguevagabond some, which prompted me to go back to Japan to check on something.  Stopped in Germany again first, to get something at the caramel shop.  Mmmmmmmmm.  I'm going to bring my camera next time I go to the parks and actually get pics of my journey, I swear.  Did my bit in Japan, browsed Morocco (thought about maybe meeting Al & Jas, because it's been almost two years, but felt too sweaty), then checked out the UK.

Left Epcot through International Gateway; thought about being lazy and taking the boat to DHS, but I decided to hoof it over.  Lots of adorable ducks and squirrels along the way.  Note to self: bring iPod next time, to make journey more enjoyable.  I felt sort of gross and debated between going to DHS or just heading home, but I decided to hit the park for a little bit.  It was about 7:00 at this point.

Browsed Villains in Vogue (the store of eternal disappointment), got a slush that gave me brain freeze so bad that I had to toss it, and strolled over to One Man's Dream, since I had never watched the finale film before.  Quite nice, though the guy behind me was sleeping. XDDD  Went to Animation, since I felt like drawing, and came out of it with a shitty looking Mickey Mouse.  I decided to leave the park at that point (I didn't even feel like doing Tower or Muppets. Gaspeth), but "Mulch, Sweat, and Shears" were just starting a set by the hat.  I'd never see them before, so I decided to stop.  Super glad I did; really, really fun, energetic show.  I was right in the front, so the lead singer yelled in my face and made me sing along at one point, rofl.

Left the park after that... left property (skipping Lion King 3d yet again; I swear, I will see it at some point), hit up Publix for some random stuff, and came home.  Good climax, right?  Watching "Chuck" right now (well, it's paused), before I hit the shower and watch Spaceballs, to shut Xiomara up.  Ghost and Dirty Dancing, idgaf.

adventure, fun fun fun fun, actual accomplishment, dhs, wdw, artistry, epcot, spending money, impatience
