So my invitation to become a Beta
iScrybe tester finally came... nearly a full year after I applied! I'd almost completely forgot about the damn online organizer, but I do remember being impressed by it's features AT THE TIME. I am non-plussed that it doesn't support Safari, has many PC-like features, and doesn't seem to have that innovative feel one year into development.

This comes on the heels of Apple's announcement that iLife '08 has been released, and is being widely criticized as a barbaric flop, largely due to iMovie being stripped of user-friendly functions and tools and having the look of an entirely different application. If reports are to be believed, iDvd is crash-prone. Apple has responded by providing iMovie HD '06 to dissatisfied customers, which has many more "pro" features. I am assuming Apple gutted iMovie to remove itself from competition with it's own Final Cut Studio 2 (or simply Final Cut Pro 6), as many people who want some nicer effects and transitions but don't want to shell out $1300! might find iMovie HD '06 a cheaper alternative.
At any rate, I'll be reviewing both iLife '08, iMovie HD '06, and iScrybe. I'll probably post some impressions here.
Now, to find my video camera...
