I got ill and they sent us to hospital and we ended up quarentined in the school where we work drinking electrolyte and eating chicken soup

- I think I just ate something a bit dodgy, but the others were passed out for 2 days. The highly trained doctor prescribed us "rest and fluids". Wow, 5 years at med school well spent.
- The secret lake was at 3,800m in the Andes and we had to bribe the guardian rice and then following him through a creepy wood that was like the forest in Sleepy Hollow. All spikey trees and caves and random boulders. Then we went over the hill and there was the lake. It was awesome.
- I won no prize for the sack race, although I was offered a raw egg as a joke.
- I can't really expand on planting radishes.
- when we went to buy the bus ticket, we were talking to the guy at the counter, and he crossed himself when we said we wanted the night bus. So we asked why and he said "Mucho pistoles" and made shooting fingers. He said the worst part of the road is best travelled during the day so that's what we'll do.
Aha, glad of the expansion also. Claire has talked about buses in Peru and how they cross themselves while going round corners. She freaked out. Someone I was sitting next to did it while I was on the bus in Birmingham the other day aswell, although I'm not sure if it was cos she was scared of bandits.

At one point on the way to the secret lake we were driving along a dirt track about 2 foot wider than the bus, and the drop was horrific. I was freaking about a bit and couldn't look.
Ah yes the roads are like that in Laos, I say roads I mean road singular, as there is only the one. It is rather scary when the bus tries to overtake on blind corners giving this. Also there are no road rules, not even saying which side to drive on. It is a lot scary now I think about it. :S

Yea, expansion good.
I think I'm going to do the 'not going to look therefore it isn't happening' tactic.
