The Coast

Ok, So this is another backdated entry. And yes I'm typing a lot today, being very prolific, what can you say, I use a lot of words and there's a lot to say, and I don't want to just summarize for you guys and not share what happened.
So, we went down to the cost on this day, monday, with Jared, Alicia, Rachelle, and My self. We first drove accross the beautiful country (I do like florida, but I must say, I do love the giant gorgous evergreens here and the hills and ring of mountains) and over the costal range (which had a thin layer of snow on it) to Tillamook where Caleb works and my and my family's favorite cheeze is made. We had a lunch and ice cream there, and then moved on to Nehalem Bay State Park. We drove out on the peninsula that forms the bay, and then Rachelle wasn't feeling well so she stayed in the car as the 3 of us went though the forest along behind the dunes (huge dunes) with no trail, and then cut through to a dune trail and went along these great little trails cut by other visitors that run between and along the dunes like a mini mountain/hill range. Alicia found a hut of drift wood, and I found a the hill with the view I wanted, a 360 degree panarama of the ocean (and huge waves ) the range of mountains and hills and such that run right along the coast dissapearing peaks and cliffs and all into the mist as the cost went south, the bay and mountains behind, and then hill and coast going north. It was an amazing picture still burned into my head. So then Rachelle came out for the view, then we went through manzanita (a little beach town) and found my old beach house, looked around, and then went up to Oswald West park, where we hiked down to te beach through the lush, towering woods and had fun with the rocks, and drift wood piles on the beach wher we built a fire. We got out just before dark and went for dinner at Seaside before going back. I described the one view the best, but the whole trip was beautiful, all the roads, and coast, and forests, and especiall the hill (very big hill since it runs straight up from sea level) that looks down and back and the cost as it curves in for the beach of manzananita, and the huge waves forming and crashing from way out in the sea rolling in a a precisely regular pattern. We even caught the sunset at the beach at Oswald West. Well, enough of that, it was a fun day. God bless.
Josh
