yesterday, i drove up to dennis's place. we hung out in the pool for a little while, and then watched some youtube videos and played skate 2. then we went with his parents to the warren county 4-H fair. i eagerly found the bunnies to look at, as i'm pretty sure bean came from a 4-H fair and i wanted to see more tans like her. while they weren't labled as, i did find two rabbits who looked like they should have been labeled as such, give or take... their coloring wasn't nearly as solid and intense as my bean's. lot's of cute babies, of course, with out a thought or consideration for rabbit overpopulation.... what can ya do.
of course there were lots of cute animals, including cows, chickens, geese, ducks, horses, and goats. i like goats.... if i ever have a large piece of property i want chickens and a goat. there was a HUUUUUGE piggie named charlotte who completely convinced me i would also want a pig, lol. she was seriously cute, and so inquisitive when you called her name, as if expecting a treat. i wanted to pet her but i wasn't sure if we were allowed to. dennis said i would have to take care of all of these farm animals, haha :-P i also felt alpaca fur for the first time.... so soft! almost bought NJ grown honey for my allergies but decided not to..... and had the best funnel cake ever!
my family left this morning for chincoteague island, VA for a week, so i will have the entire house to myself. i'm hoping denny will stay over one or two nights. i woke up late, but when i woke up i felt a huge urge to CLEAN, so i bolted upstairs and started cleaning the kitchen... went through some cupboards and found some really old tang and A&P creamer.... we haven't had an A&P in town in over 5 years. i love finding the old stuff that never gets thrown out and simply forgotten about. once i found an old can of quaker oats from 1987.... the year i was born. that means that not only did we move to our new house with that can of quaker oats, but we had the can for 4 years and then decided to move with it! lol. my mom hates to throw out food, it's an old habit from growing up in a poor family with lots of children :)
so i sorted out some cupboards, made a space for some of my pet supplies, and cleaned the counter top stove a little. i want to do some deep cleaning for a few rooms in this house before the week is over. i also want to keep this house tidy if i have friends come over. this week i'm on my own so i'd like to act as if i live on my own, and act accordingly when it comes to chores and such. my parents left me $30 for food..... not sure what i'm going to do with it yet. my options are a little limited now that i'm trying to avoid meat, but it also gives me an opportunity to experiment with new food. right now my first goal is to shift into a pescatarian diet as i've done this before. that said, my mom accidentally took the jelly with them on vacation so i had a tuna sandwich on potato bread for lunch.
