It was quirky without being funny. Uncomfortable without being unbearable. None of the characters were completely likable, but I didn't hate them either.
I haven't seen it, but I must say-- this describes about 95% of independent film for me. ;) I've watched a lot of that stuff for my boyfriends... I mean fantasy boyfriends.
This movie is seriously haunting me today. It was really depressing! The more I think about it, the worse it gets. And his being-raped face was sooo sad! D:
But yeah, I watched a bunch of crap for Christian Bale. Thankfully, only one of them was depressing and they don't really make him cry in movies. Apparently, Emile cries in almost every movie. o_O'
Oh, Christian Bale. I watched Velvet Goldmine for Ewan McGregor, and Christian Bale was just an added bonus. LOL, cries in every movie? Typecast as a weeper?
I really liked Velvet Goldmine, though, but then I also like Glitter Rock. ;)
