But finally today, he picked up the phone and dialled.

"'lo?" Dawn was nearly awake when she answered, but it was probably best that she didn't have a videophone, since the look that went along with that mostly included bed head and eye goo.

Right, time difference, Dean needed to remember that. "Hey," he said.

"Hey, you," she said sleepily, recognizing the voice. She snuggled down into the blankets, smiling. "Ready to graduate?"

"Truthfully? Not remotely," he said.

[lilpunkinbelly]

She yawned hugely. "Flunking not an option, huh?"

"Would be bad form considering my stepmom's in charge of the school."

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Right." Another yawn. "Any idea what you're doing afterwards? Lots of colleges and slayable stuff in this area. Just in case you wanted to know."

"Alec's still at Bobby's," Dean said. "Figured I'd go grab him and we could do the wandering hunter thing."

"Don't wander too far, 'kay?"

[saltandammo]

"Hey, you know I'll always wander back," Dean said, smiling.

"Just checking," she smiled back into the phone. "Tell Alec I said hi?"

"Will do." Dean paused. "So Fandom had a bunch of little visitors last weekend."

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Little--" She sat up in bed as she realized that the prom was probably last weekend. "How many did you get?"

[saltandammo]

"Four," Dean said. "Y'know, I do actually use protection all the time so I don't know why I always end up with a tribe."

"Because you're Fate's bitch?" She couldn't help giggling at his reaction, "Or maybe it's the universe's way of saying you'll be an awesome dad at some point in the future that's not right now."

Which was the definition of future most people used, but Dawn wasn't completely alert yet. "Because you will be. Who showed up?"

"Had a cute little girl with Peyton named Samantha Dean," Dean said and the smile was audible in his voice. "You think Sammy's puppy eyes are lethal..."
