My week of vacation and relaxation is drawing to a close. I have always been baffled by people that find a week off to be boring. I could hardly find enough time to do everything!
Saturday night, Jacob held a hotel party in the Shoreline Inn for all of the Muskegon crew to congregate, masturbate, drink, stay up late, and generally partake in self-destructive behaviors on the Man's time and dime. Great big thanks to Jacob for being such an awesome friend and letting Krista and I stay in the Hotel when we had nowhere else to go. You're the best, dude.
I also settled some things with Rob, which is a relief. I hate being at odds with anyone.
The next day, the entire crew played baseball. I didn't play because I was busy fixing a flat, but I watched. Matt had the most amazing homer I have ever seen, knocking the ball out clear across the field where it literally bounced off of the chain-link fence, falling on the far side by only a few inches. Afterwards, the crew assembled at Matt and Andrea's for grilling and other festivities (such as Max Ryznar calling Nick Debniak 'Pudge' over and over again).
I also stopped in on the recording process, to check out the band's progress. I only heard several songs, but Mike Counsel (sp?) is doing an amazing job. I am in shock that he can make us sound good. If this album flops as badly as the last one, it will be a damn shame.
I wonder how many other great bands have watched an album of songs that they saw as great spiral down the cultural toilet? And how many of those CD's will I never get a chance to hear? Or maybe every band feels that way about their music, and our songs really aren't that good. I suppose that is for all of you to judge.
