I thought I was a dork!! :(

Pure Nerd

78 % Nerd, 13% Geek, 39% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally
smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up
all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer.
Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more
so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be
replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

Congratulations!

THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST

I am not in the least bit tired. I bet it's because I haven't been taking my anti-depressants in 4 days. They regulate my serotonin (which is one of the brain chemicals that affects sleep). I left them at my uncle's house in Riverside. Whoops.

I have class in a couple of hours. I bought my books today. The damage was a few dollars short of $250, which is a lot better than last semester. I still have one book left to buy. I just hope I don't have to buy a lot of art supplies. That will do me in for sure.

My birthday was fun. I spent the first seven or so hours talking to Mark, then I fell asleep and woke up at 2:30pm. Stacey gave me The Faint's newest CD, "Danse Macabre" and a spiffy necklace. We went to the mall and looked at stuff while waiting for the 6:25pm showing of Memoirs of a Geisha, since I finally finished the book. The scenery and costumes were breathtakingly beautiful; I had been anticipating the movie ever since I had read the detailed descriptions of the kimonos in the book. I think all the actresses did a superb job in capturing their characters. I was very pleased with Ziyi Zhang (Chiyo/Sayuri) and Michelle Yeoh (Mameha), as well as the actress who portrayed Pumpkin. The little girl who played young Chiyo was so cute and pretty good for a newcomer child actress. I think her name is Suzuki or something. Ken Watanabe was excellent. I've liked him ever since The Last Samurai. The movie explained so little, though, and I feel that I wouldn't have understood it as well had I not read the book. I think it did the message of the book justice. It offered a candid look into the Geisha life without depicting it as something sad and oppressive nor something glamorous and beautiful. Those are both aspects of it, yes, but the story offers so much more.

After the movie we went to On The Border, a tex-mex chili's sort of place. I had soup because of my sore throat, and for dessert Stacey and I feasted on a free birthday brownie-ice cream dish. I left the ice cream alone and dug into the warm, gooey, walnut-infested brownie. Mmm. With a little coffee it would have been perfect. I don't have a big sweet tooth.

Steph came home yesterday afternoon and the three of us spent the evening together buying groceries and such. I balanced my checkbook when I got home, which I haven't done in a month and now I know why... :P
She got me a panda frame from the San Diego Zoo with a picture of us in it. Awwww.
I missed my roommates. I'm glad to be back.
