I received an email earlier this week from some woman working at the secretariat for European Languages. She informed me through some official judicial babble that I am actually not allowed to leave the Curriculum Committee unless I am "seriously ill" (by this I presume she means aids, leukemia or gastro-intestinal cancer). Also, the person I suggested as a replacement is not allowed to replace me, nor will he get paid for being there. Well done university bureaucracy, you win. I'll stay. Oh well, at least it pays. Hurrah for money I may receive in the future. Hurrah indeed. I am so enthused.
