He glances about the mess hall, notices the eyes studiously averted. They have watched, yet seen nothing; it is fascinating that humans, so proud of their emotional incontinence, should be blind to the profound emotions in their midst.

lol - I adored the scene where Uhura forces him to assign her to the Enterprise, I think that must define their relationship. Whipped, indeed. :)

The nature of Vulcan logic is quite fascinating ;). I wanted to work out a scenario that felt believable to me, which allowed them to control their feelings without repressing them (which would be psychologically damaging, IMO!). I owe a lot to djarum99 for her help with working it all out! I'm really pleased it sounded plausible to you!
I think there will be more S/U fic, perhaps a longer piece. I have some plot bunnies hopping around. :)
