I've been curious about Dreamwidth but not enough for me to do anything. With this Facebook Thing going on, everyone's been throwing out codes like crazy and I am not that strong. You wave something shiny and new in front of my face long enough and I'll go for it. Shameful lack of control, I has it. I know

And yeah, I looked at some communities over there and they're dead. Ugh. There's not much going on with the things I'm currently into. So...
I never really follow players in tennis. There are ones I like and there are ones I don't and I usually wind up cheering for one player over another. But... I love underdogs but I don't always cheer for them.
I'd like Clijsters to win again, but I wouldn't be upset if she didn't. I do like that Serena is out (even though I do like her. Woman is an amazon and hits crazy hard. I love it.) because it probably gives more players more confidence. I want Sharapova to do well, and I have a soft spot for Stossur. I'm a Li Na fan, but it bothers me she's so streaky and I'm not happy with her for getting out already.
I don't like Djokovic. I always cheer for the guy he's playing against. (Also, I don't think he'll win another Grand Slam event. I just don't think he's got it in him. And if he does, I probably still won't give him any credit.) I want Isner to do well, but I'm worried he'll just hurt himself more so I don't know how badly I want him to actually try. I can't believe Davydenko's out. I love that guy. He never gets any love, poor guy. But Gasquet worked it. That's more than enough for me to get behind him for a bit.
I wish del Potro were playing. :(
This is an interesting Open. A lot of heavy-hitters are out already. It's crazy and exciting.

The communities ARE dead! DED! Yikes. And what isn't is just cross-posted.
Clijsters is cool; if she wins again, I wouldn't mind. I'm not much of a fan of hers, per se, as I hadn't seen her play prior to her recent return, but what she was able to do is crazy. I like Stosur, too! She shoulda won the French, but I'm really glad for Schiavone; she probably had the best party in the world when she got home. She hugged a chick in the stands and I wondered if that was her lady. I hope so. *g* I don't care much for Sharapova, what with the screeching.
I don't care for the Djoker too much, either, and we share a birthday. Ugh. He's funny with his impersonations and all, but I don't see him winning a major again unless something ridiculous happens. I'm currently cool on most of the American guys. I do root for Blake and Dent and Ginepri, a little, 'cause they're underdogs. I love little Nicky Davydenko! I can't wait until he's all better and able to maintain. He's so good for his size. And Gasquet! I like him, too! Even after that coke incident-- flimsy excuse, I think yes?-- I'm still a little soft for him, considering his former poster boy status that he couldn't handle. I also like Monfils, but I'm lukewarm on Tsonga most of the time. The French are doing well so far, as are the Spaniards.
Speaking of Spaniards, Rafa's my boy, so everything I said before crossed out when he's involved. Still, I wasn't THAT upset when he lost to Baghdatis; I'm more upset that Big Datis went out like he did at the Open. I don't care for Del Potro much, especially after he put the spank on Rafa last year, but it's a shame his wrist has him so jacked up right now. It'd have definitely been more interesting with him healthy and in the draw, but it's interesting enough already, on the edge of my seat, hoping Nadal gets past some flat-hitting scrubs.
Azarenka probably had a good shot on the lady's side, but to fall out, literally, as she did effin' blows, especially after what happened at the Australian against Serena, but I'm glad I don't have to hear her.
There could be a brand-new slam champ on either side. Nuts. I'm pulling for Dementieva for the women and Rafa on the mens. Fingers crossed!

I'm not a fan of Hewitt because of how their relationship ended, by the way. I'm never impressed by that guy. Haha.
I really like the way Schiavone's playing right now. The people who descredit her win in France really piss me off, and I want her to make them eat their words.
Sharapova's a great hard hitter. I love that in women. (Lol. I feel like that says something about me.) So the more I see it on the court, the happier I am.
The American guys... I like Ginepri and Dent and Harrison (That kid's gonna do awesome things one day soon.) and obviously Isner (That guy could not get any cuter. Which isn't why I like him, but seriously. Whenever I see him smile. Aw, he looks like such a little kid in a big person body. Haha!), but I'm weird about Blake. I don't know why but there's something about him that really bothers me. I always like a good story about athletes overcoming adversity, so I usually wind up cheering for him anyway. I just feel weird about it.
I completely adore Tsonga (I call him Joey in my head.) and am lukewarm about Monfils. I think he could win me over eventually, though.
I forgot about how pissed Baghdatis made me by losing. I sort of have a love/hate relationship with him so maybe I'm used to it. I love cheering him on, but sometimes I feel like I'm putting more effort into it than he is.
Azarenka has a way of scaring the shit out of me, and it's not funny. I swear to God if she does that again...
I think Nadal's got it this year, but I'm still not sure where I stand with the women. Suppose I should pick a player before it gets into the second week.

What?! She was with Hewitt?! Dude! I think his time for impressing anyone passed a long time ago.
You know, no one expected her to win and it was pretty Cinderella the way that she did. But, she never gave up, didn't go away and IIRC, she won a few great points, so all credit to her. She didn't choke.
She is a great hitter and I like that, too-- I'd just prefer to watch it with the mute on. Speaking of which, lemme turn it down, now.
I didn't see Harrison play and I'm not sure that I care much right now. I don't care for Isner. He does looks like a big kid, though, and there was an interview with Carrie (sp?) Champion where it seemed like he was kind of hitting on her and then looking put out when she shot him down (and Querrey kinda rolling his eyes, like, no, dude. Not gonna happen) and that got him a few points. I'm not a fan of Blake's; more like I feel sorry for him a lot of the time recently. He's still got some good years left and injury has knocked him down a few times, so considering who my fav player is, I can sympathize. Then again, he's a bit of a dork.
You can have Tsonga! Really! Monfils is more a show-guy than tennis player and needs to flip that around. That said, I like watching his antics and hope he can translate that flair into good wins.
Dude. One minute he's playing to his potential and the next, you're wishin he'd just gone home. Never know what you're going to get with him. He's kinda like Kuznetsova to me, only she wins more. Now, that's a player that should have more slams than she does, for sure.
Scaring you how? Health-wise? Yeah, she hasn't had the greatest luck in slams as of late.
You do?! Oh, man, I hope he does, too! He hasn't lost a set yet, but he's struggled from time to time. I'm hoping that should he get to Murray, he has a game plan to get past that cat; hasn't beat him on hard court since last year's Indian Wells, I don't think. Though, that was a windy day... How long will Earl be around? ;)
