"Orpheus," The African Media Matrix
I don't know how to classify the show I just saw. It doesn't feel like theatre. It feels like a mixture of tribal religion and a fun house.
Either way, it was probably the best art I have ever seen in my life. Whatever I bring back from South Africa will pale compared to that experience. Orpheus, to me, is South Africa.
Tonight is our last night in Grahamstown. Next we spend two days in nature reserves on safari, then a day in Plettenberg Bay, then two days in Cape Town again, and then home.
I was so ready to go there earlier this week. Why do I want to stay now?
