So we meet again, LJ

Dec 26, 2013 22:23

With 2013 near its end, I thought I'd pop by and see what was new with LJ. Many a dead comm and account, but also some familiar faces and energy.

New in my world is Shakespearotica: Queering the Bard, my first edited erotic anthology. (You can also find it at amazon.com and other online sellers.) While I don't write fanfic anymore -- at least for ( Read more... )

erotica, shakespearotica

yup, i started it after my job came to an end last year. i sort of made the mistake of publishing it under my real name; although it contains nothing remotely racy/x-rated; it's abnormally tame.... you can find the collected version here - http://www.amazon.com/Anthology-Horror-F-Sharp-Major-Rivero/dp/1492757993/ref=la_B00BJC7ZYW_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1388166288&sr=1-2 i still have way too much to learn about the whole self-publishing thing, including cover design so pardon the looks of it :) if you'd like a pdf let me know!

oh, and where be the link to this cowboy fick?

I'd love to ready your book, even if it's tame. Happy to promote it on Twitter and Salome Wilde's FB. And when time permits, I'll review it on amazon and/or my blog.

I'll email you via your publisher email account, and I'll include a PDF of my edited collection of queer Shakespeare erotica. If you'd like to read the friends-to-lovers gay novella Talon and I wrote, I can send that, too.

Now, what happened to your job? I know you finished your PhD, and I thought you had a tenure-track gig?

cool; you can use krypto.morph.media@gmail.com; I LOVE shakespeare (but he's already queer - when you think boys played juliet in the original elizabethan) and i need to check out your fic later too. i'm in the middle of a massive writing spree for a fic com ATM which is why i've been busy lately (these will be my first fanfics in over a year).

i went to CO to do a post doc at NREL (a dept of energy lab) when the contract money ran out so did my job :( it's been a world of no this whole 2013. 2014 isn't looking too bright yet either except that i might end up moving to georgia soon to be with family.

Of course Shakespeare is queer, but the book ups the ante in multiple scenarios from historical to reinterpretations of plays to contemporary actors and even SF. It's a very fun collection. Worked a lot on it,

So what fanfic are you writing? Which comm? I haven't written since I wrote the cowboy fic in 2012, not including the Shakespeare. Won't make money on the book but it is published in eBook and soon our in paperback.

If you move to GA, stop by Nashville en route and I'll buy you dinner or even put you up at our place if you need a stopover. And hope you can find a good gig soon.

i got the pdf and will be devouring it heartily soon :D

my recent toe-dip into fandom can be found in the hentai-contest com; it's 9 ficlets mostly inuyasha with sprinkles of other fandoms.

well here's to hoping my 2014 is better than 2013 was... :)
