We saw a Socotra Cormorant at the beach today. Totally alone, probably off to the shore after digesting a meal. He calmly came, waddled around the shore, got petted by the kids and went off back into the sea. There, it was briefly caught by some Chinese-looking assholes, who spread its wings and hit it with a ball. I still can't believe how bloody stupid one can be to do that.

It's a vulnerable species, and I'm really happy I could see it up close.
