Cross-posted from FB, so apologies if you've read this...
It looks like I have gone and got myself roped in to a fundraising bike ride on Wednesday!
My old mate Tim Kenny from Ipswich is riding between his company's various regional offices with a workmate - some 300 miles in 4 days. This seemingly unnecessary exertion is in order to raise money for
East Anglia Children's Hospices and the
Butterfly Children's Hospices in Chansa and Nanjing, China.
Feeing that this was a jolly good cause I allowed, a month or so back, that I might be talked into accompanying them on the first leg from Stockport to Solihull - a distance of 82 miles over undulating terrain. Now, of course, with glaciers poised to advance as far south as Tamworth*, I am starting to regret such careless talk.
Still, the die is cast, the train tickets bought, the bicycle oiled and fiddled with. It's too late to back out now ;-)
The donation page is
here if you're feeling generous ;-)
*we're hoping to stay ahead of them though...
