SakuraCon, day 1
The Pre-Registration line took about as long as the line for people who hadn't registered yet. At least Marysia and I found katmaxwell and her friends in the queue.
We toured the dealer's room (also known as the merchandize room / The Room of Shinies). For some reason, neither Marysia nor I were particularly interested in the mass-produced stuff, though there was some nice jewelry and an action figure or two. We were far more interested in the unique small-time stuff in the Artist's Alley. Then we found byakko_chan and walked around with her some.
There were some pretty cool cosplayers: a humanoid Nanaki, two spectacular drag queens and a king, and a WoW warlock and his succubus. From Resident Evil, I saw at least 3 Ada Wongs. A gangster Leon had the right outfit but had not bothered to cut his long ponytail or shave off his mustache. What. Also there was an RE4 Leon and Ada. He looked pretty good. But what takes the cake where the 2 people who dressed up as Umbrella Corp militia -- I saw the patches on their gear. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that they made me uneasy. I shook my fist at one while I passed him. ^^;
