Far over the Misty Mountains...

Is it bad that, even though I became saturated with Middle-Earth a long time ago, I still can get lost in this picture? It's a drawing by Tolkien himself, of the Halls of King Thranduil, in Mirkwood. I rediscovered it today while looking for wallpapers at work. So much of my high school self was tied to this place. No surprise, then, that the memories would stir within me -- not a bad experience, just...like an undertow sucking at my heels. Powerful and unexpected.

This happens every so often. As anyone who has been around our D&D table will know, I am no longer so weary of Middle-Earth that I cannot make jokes and allusions. On the contrary, I enjoy them. ^_^

I'm not upset, so don't worry. Also, don't take me too seriously. I am currently riding out a bad caffeine high. This is what black tea, at the wrong time in the wrong quantities, does to my brain and body.

To stray further from my original point, I finally purchased those two October Projects albums I've been meaning to buy. While I was at it, I ordered most of the Utena DVDs too -- through the Black Rose arc. If the third parties cooperate, they should ship from their respective locations by the 4th. I am very excited.
