Stories from Methville, Part II

Jan 25, 2010 12:21

My adopted mother, that I have adopted whether she likes it or not, has a twenty yr old grandson who got hooked...he'd clean up and go to church, and I guess because Church of Christ doesn't believe people can't enter the doors of the church unless they're pure in heart, without being struck down by the Lord Almighty, these fools figured he was clean...Sweetcakes, trying to believe he was being productive, took out a loan for her grandson and bought him a used truck...he blew the engine in a month...granted, he fixed it, but hanging at an automotive shop with fellow tweekers, this would be no problem, as I understand that's a side effect, taking things apart and putting them back together...towards the end of his downward spiral, Granny went to check on him at the shop, trying to make sure he still had the title to some random piece of farm equipment...I have never seen someone so tweeked that i just turned away with tears in my eyes, waiting for the sound of his head exploding from being so absolutely high...he was in jail a few days later, charged with manufacture...and the truck he'd had for six months that his granny on a fixed income, took a loan out for, now sits in her back yard with a strip job comperable to one in Harlem..but instead of sending  it back on blocks, the did throw some dry rotted tires on it....and her she is, paying on a shell of a truck, no engine, no tranny, hell...not even seats for the next two years. Her grandson is currently in rehab, the only 'free' rehab/halfway house there is in Columbia...certainly not Promises or Malibu...or even Cumberland Hights...just an abandoned nursing home and an approach to sobriety that focuses on religion for healing...something that I think is rediculous...instead of psych and meds....My Daddy lived there the last days of his life, and it's a bullshit place....her grandson will never suceed without    A)relocationg to a metroplotin area where he knows nobody  and  B) treating his ADHD

and a short one for you...Steven's childhood friend got on it pretty bad, busted for manufacture...went to jail, in the process snitched on any and everyone he could...got scared..got sentenced two years in prison, and I guess felt he'd get snitch shanked or killed when he got out...he hung himself in his cell, and his fifteen year old son helped carry his casket to crematorium

Maybe updated pictures of all of us later, since I have filled the requirment of my daily social commentary
