So I finally got around to seeing Pirates of the Caribbean II. Was it just me, or did the plot make absolutely no sense? Just one thing after another! As soon as the wheel at the abandoned mill appeared I leaned over and whispered to John, "somebody's going to have a swordfight on that wheel."
Anyway, to change the subject (think of it as a side trip to a cannibal island), I've been thinking about what I've learned lately about writing.
Last year, the big thing I learned was The Protagonist Must Protag.
In May it was Be Persistent.
This month, it's Start With Action.
What about you? Any big realizations lately about the craft or business of writing?
