Oh shiny!

Am playing around with new laptop.

Pros:
~*~ It's new and shiny. Enough said.
~*~ Pre-installed Google Desktop!!! *googlegasms* All my private information are being sent to Google headquarters at this moment, but I don't care. It's like having a Google homepage on your desktop, but also with little plants and fishes and snowglobes and stuff. I'm giving up my freedoms for sexiness. Go me.

Cons:
~*~ Widescreens are icky. I don't know why they make all computers this way now. (It looks slightly better, as in less wide, with the Google sidebar taking out a chunk of space.)
~*~ My LJ layout seems to be misaligned in both IE and Mozilla, and only works in the messed up browser I had before. Said messed up browser also didn't show LJ ads, which are visible now.
~*~ No more page scroll thingie on the touchpad. That was the one redeeming feature of old laptop. (I guess it won't matter when I have a mouse.)

Jury's still out:
~*~ Pre-installed Microsoft OneNote. Do I want to keep it? Isn't it kind of pointless without a Tablet?
~*~ Pre-installed Yahoo Music Engine/Jukebox/whatever. Do I want to keep it?
~*~ Am attempting to move over almost 3G (yeah, 3G = pathetic, I know) of music with a 128MB flash drive. It's not as bad as it sounds. I just keep shuffling it from one computer to another while playing with Google Desktop and figuring out what other stuff are pre-installed (like Picasa, Toshiba sure hearts Google).
~*~ The keyboard is kind of weird. Both the "Del" and the "~ `" keys are in the very bottom row, and the CapsLock key is tiny. Eh.

shiny, computers
