First, I just want to gush once again about LJ's auto-saving draft feature. I love it to death. :)
Second, classes post! (Aka Sally shamelessly stereotypes and/or trashtalks her professors. :p )
~*~ EE319K Microcontrollers - The prof looks very much like someone with tenure, and by that I mean a drunken slacker (but in a good way!). He wore baggy pants, and his hair was greasy/unkempt. Nothing else too interesting. Mucho labs = :(, but I'll live.
~*~ M340L Matrices - The prof looks very much like a mathematician, and by that I mean tall, super skinny, huge glasses, bookish and upstanding citizen sort of demeanor. Awww he (like most math teachers) doesn't use the projector and writes directly on the board (which I actually prefer for math), but the classroom only has a tiny two-layered board, so he kept having to shuffle the boards up and down and erase. Also, there's a hearing-impaired person in the class, which is cool. She has her personal translator person who sits in front of her and signs the lecture.
~*~ EE313 Linear Systems: Awww the prof made fun of girls. :( He was like "Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if you think it's stupid. I find that boys are usually scared to ask questions because they don't want to seem like idiots. So boys, ask questions, be idiots. Girls, I already think you're idiots anyway." o.O I'm not sure to what degree he was joking...he said something after, but I didn't hear because I was sitting too far back. Also? He was completely monotone, and he never stops talking. Someone's cell phone rang really loudly for a long time, and he just kept going as if he didn't hear it. Even when the bell rang, he just kept going. If Ben Stein and the Energizer Bunny had a misogynistic love child, it would be him.
~*~ MAN320F Management: I finally meet Loescher! She's...kind of scary, in an intimidating boss sort of way, which I guess is appropriate. What was annoying/distracting was that she kept using examples that were factually incorrect and didn't make sense. Exhibit A: "Bill Clinton got elected because of his EQ, his emotional intelligence, his ability to communicate effectively. And it was also his...uh...emotional judgments that put him out of office." Exhibit B: "Everyone has managers. Even Bill Gates is managed by someone else; he has to report to the chairman of the board."
~*~ ARH303 Art History: Nothing terribly interesting. Prof looked like a hippie. Mucho papers = :(, but they're short and not research-heavy, so it should be fine. TA session is mandatory = :(, but the TA is shmexy, so all is well.
~*~ EE322C Programming: Methinks this is going to be my most problematic class because 1) I suck at programming, (and I feel stupid next to all the hacker monkeys.) 2) The prof is hardcore, as in quiz-on-the-first-day, willing-to-curve-down hardcore. (Although he's pretty confident that grades won't be good enough to warrant curving down.) P.S. No teacher should ever curve down. If the grades are too good, make the material/tests harder.
Tis all. :)
