Past-week-in-review post.
Monday: I went to my SiLabs interview. It was...um...yeah let's not brood about yesterday. Non-broody highlights of the trip: 1)We went to Quizno's for lunch. There were three of us: me and the manager and random engineer who was randomly on the lunch schedule. I was first in line to order, and I ordered a sandwich because, you know, we were at Quizno's. Then, both of the other two ordered salads. So we had me, tiny Asian girl, big sandwich; them, big grown men, salads, and they weren't even large salads. That was awkward. 2)Pretty much everyone, even ordinary employees, has their own office. Apparently the company is very anti-cubicle. That's pretty hot.
Tuesday: I went to my dance thingie. (It was a premiere party for the KLRU show Downtown, if you care.) Highlights: 1)I found out that thirteen-year-old girls are annoying. They have short attention spans and they never stop talking. 2)We got glow-in-the-dark bracelets. Also, I'm easily amused. 3)Lance Armstrong was supposedly there. Or something. There were also supposedly a bunch of other famous-people-who-are-not-famous-enough-for-me-or-you-to-know-who-they-are there. 4)There was an open bar, and I was told that a good portion of the audience was tipsy. I kind of wanted a drink while the thirteen-year-old girls were incessantly babbling about stupid things (but not seriously because I'm not a drunkard. See below.) Lol I also should have stalked Lance Armstrong while he was drunk. ;)
In other Tuesday news, there was a baseball game that night, so the parking lots next to the baseball field were pretty filled. When I got back, I was forced to parallel park, and as I was unsuccessfully trying to do so, this guy popped up out of nowhere and started helping me (directing me, telling me how much space I have, etc). Because I'm a disgustingly stereotypical Asian driver and because I don't park in front of Carothers anymore, it took me a long time to get it right. It didn't help that the stupid Longhorn fanclub booster club whatever was blasting their horn really loudly every two minutes and scaring me each time. Anyway, that guy stuck with me through my retarded parking skills. I heart nice people. :)
Wednesday: I went to see my doctor aka Janice's mom. I like her; she's cute. Aww I'd forgotten how cute she is. She thinks I'm a drunkard though. She asked me if I smoked, I said no, and she accepted that readily. She then asked if I drank alcohol, I said not much, like twice a year, and she said, "Really? You're in college now. You don't drink on weekends?" Aww she thinks I'm a partying drunkard. Anyway, in less cute news, I have stomach inflammation, which is causing acid reflux. :(
In other Wednesday news, I'm a horrible person. I was watching the part in Lost where Bernard just proposed to Rose, and Rose just told him that she had one year to live. It's obvious that he's going to be sweet and not care that she's dying and marry her anyway, but throughout the scene, I was thinking "Of course he still wants to marry her. After she dies, he'll get all of her money." Yeah, me=horrible person.
Thursday: I skipped my morning class (because I didn't feel like getting up) and went to get poked by a needle instead. I needed to get blood tests done to see if my stomach problem is bacterial and also because my mom wanted to "moniter" my anemia (more specifically, thalassemia). Heh I definitely don't have a problem with blood. I couldn't look while they were inserting the needle (because I don't like needles), but afterwards, I had no problem watching blood flow out into the tube. It's just red liquid, people. :p And on that gory note, here endeth this obscenely time-consuming post. Good night, and good luck.
