The best way i can describe today is...nice. We (my family and i)went to visit my great aunt(that word 'aunt' looks so incredibly weird to me right now)at her "assisted living home." My grandparents usually go, and i like to accompany them when i can. I don't know what it is...i just like it...nice atmosphere, nice people, nice lighting, clean, cute bird, and this awesome, old, fat dog who all the elderly people feed(i believe his name is Scooter, and the bird's name is JoJo). At the home, there is this cute couple who live there;one of them is 92, and the other is 103...or something equally ridiculous. They recently celebrated their 34584574895th anniversary, and i just think that it's very lovely. Also, whenever they all sit down to eat supper, the man-of this ancient couple-always sings these love songs, and he sings so beautifully!! Anyways, i really love my great aunt, she = kewl like whoa. She's also funny as hell...that woman comes up with some shite. Today, we were all sitting in her room talking, and i started to think about when i used to go over to her apartment to play with my cousins...she would always be cooking something. So, i was reminiscing when i realized that i couldn't remember what she looked like then, and it upset me quite a lot. Mind you, there was no extreme change in her appearance, just the obvious changes when one gets to be that old. Still, for some reason, i just couldn't remember, and it was killing me. I had spent a large amount of my childhood at this woman's apartment during which she was either entertaining us, or cooking her famous artichokes(the most delicious things ever ever ever)...and now, i couldn't even remember what she looked like;it was as if my not remebering made it not exist.
We left soon after that and went to my grandfather's sister's house to eat(as we usually do). Nanan and Johnny always have such awesome, yummalicious food for us and equally awesome, yummalicious food for us to take home...i swear, in that family, food = love. I adore sitting at the table and listening to them jabbering about this and that. Also, Nanan and Johnny's house is maybe the most homey, comfortable house i've ever been in...i can't explain it;the whole vibe is simply ~comfort~ Anyways, as usual, we stayed too long and then headed home. As i mentioned earlier, today was nice.
(Oh yeah, by the way, i was reading a bit ago, and all of a sudden i remembered what my great aunt used to look like...thus causing this entry :) )
