The end of a perfect day...

Dec 06, 2008 04:06

I woke up at 9:30 after having slept a full night (unusual in the past few days).  I went to check the cast lists for Tommy and Twelfth Night.  I am confirmed for playing lead guitar for Tommy.  The pit is a group of my Fiji friends, which is going to be a blast.  The cast also looks to be fun, especially if the band is going to be on stage like Steve (director) wants.  The list for Twelfth Night wasn't up, so I just went to class.  We read a play out loud, not much thinking necessary.  Then, I went to Fiji for lunch, which was roast and potatoes with dirty rice.  Amazing.  Next, jazz band: we voted to play 4 of my favorite songs from our book for a recording session next week.  After that, I went an helped prepare the stage for opening night of Metamorphoses, which included filtering the pool water and making sure that the lining was secure.  Brief nap before the show, woke up at 5:30 and ate, then went to check the cast list for Twelfth Night: I am Sir Toby, with another amazing cast.  Just to add it in, I found out a few days ago that I will be directing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for the student production next semester.  Cast party after the show at Fiji, which was also great fun.  Good music, lots of people all in one bedroom, bought my first alcoholoic beverage (only had 1 of a 4 pack of Strongbow hard cider).  Then, went outside in single-digit weather in jeans and a T-shirt and smoked a clove.  I don't smoke, but I was open to trying it (and felt bad turning down a $2.00 cigarette-like-thing).

Awesome day.  The rest of the weekend, not so much.
