Katie McGrath has been cast as a series regular in NBC's 10-episode drama about the iconic vampire Dracula (portrayed by Jonathan Rhys Meyers), TV Line reports.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was cast as Dracula in July 2012. Katie will play 19-year-old Londoner Lucy Westenra who’s a sexy Aristocratic social butterfly with a liking for gossip, flirting and all things glamorous. Lucy gradually becomes entwined in a web of lies, lust and temptation that challenges the boundaries of her and her best friend Mina’s relationship. Mina, who’s Dracula’s muse, will be played by Jessica De Gouw.
The series, based on Bram Stoker’s novel of the same name, finds Dracula preparing to unleash hell on the Victorian society responsible for ruining his life. But he’s thrown when he falls for a woman who’s a dead ringer for his beloved, long-deceased wife.

NBC has yet to set an official premiere date for Dracula, though fall 2013 is rumoured. Filming should take place in Hungary from February to July.
