100 Things That Still Make Being Me Just That Bit Better... 97
So okay, they're really 'beckoning' cats - Maneki-neko, but I see them waving :) Sis gave me the little black and white ones years ago after seeing them in a Japanese specialty shop (they only had the two matching, not the threesome - they're simpler and plainer than many I've seen, but me, I like them all the better for that). White ones are supposed to be for good luck, black for good health and the missing gold for good fortune (money... well that makes sense). Then this year, by pure coincidence, I ran across a reasonable match in gold myself...

So now the three of them sit on a shelf in the lounge. I think that I am, well, reasonably if not hugely lucky in life, and my health's as good as I can expect given age and lifestyle. Let's see if Goldie can make me, if not rich, reasonably secure... :)
