Tales from the Far Side... the animated specials.
I don't usually like the animated versions of comic strips - Garfield, even the Peanuts specials leave me cold, they totally lose something in the transition (and the voices are never ever ever right)
But I admit, Sis and I both loved the two animated versions of Larsen's twisted, macabre Americana :) Saw them years and years ago and it took me forever to get my hands on copies to keep. For some reason the skit that just makes me fall over laughing - every time, it never gets old - is Death Takes A Holiday in the second one, which is a totally cheerful, even cheesy vacation skit a la a Brady Bunch special... except that everyone keeps falling down dead around Death, who is having so much fun.... I also absolutely adore the theme music, it's sooooo brilliantly cliche-sinister-redneck (there's a version of it on youtube here. Fit's Larsen's dark world perfectly, doesn't it?
So anyway, to celebrate getting my hands on copies to keep... I made some icons, seventeen below and one for me. Dunno if anyone else will want them but hey, making them made me really cheerful (

(I love the time travel machine. The old-fashioned cliche it unblushingly is may not be as cool as a DeLorean, but this is me and I like it better :)
(He also does the bestest aliens, but they proved difficult to icon. So here's My Third-Favourite Cartoon Of All Time..)
