31. Which hero would make a good villain and vice versa?
For the first part, pretty much all of 'em, at least the 'older' generation. For me there is only one single 'good' character in that part of canon for whom turning evil suspends my disbelief way too far, and that's the one who ends up as the feared and hated Ghost General, Wen Ning (poor baby...)
But some of my other favourites...

Wei Wuxian in his descent into madness slides so close to villain anyway - from the point of view of the general population - that with just a slight twist he could have gone that bit further and become canonically irredeemable. And Bad Wei Wuxian is pretty damn riveting to watch and all :)
Lan Wangji? Our pristine pure Second Jade is mass of emotional superstorms under the ice prince surface, and once his heart is set, nothing and nobody can turn him, and he is ruthless. Same with his brother Lan Xichen, who adds a gentle smile and air of benevolence that would be totally deceiving. If the Jades turned dark, they could be really be dark.
And of course, Nie Huaisang... see my last post.
(So okay, this question is an excuse to post more pictures of these really beautiful men. The last one is actually from the Nie brothers spinoff movie, but I could not resist that deathstare :)
As for what villain would make a good hero, not many of them, they are for the most part bad to the bone. But obviously (and in three million and three fanfics, give or take a thousand) Meng Yao/Jin Guangyao would be able to do it if the light side (hi, Lan Xichen!) got to him before he sank too far down in his father's moral muck, and he would make a wonderful sort-of-anti-but-not-quite hero, like Nie Huaisang all brains and slyness and shadows in the pursuit of good (and his own benefit as well, because that is who he is...)
