Time for an update

Since its been 30 years or so since I've actually posted something, here we go:

I had a good Christmas vacation. Went down to Altanta to visit an childhoold friend of mine who moved down there in 7th grade. It was a trip full of new experiences. I went to lunch with a politician and got to listen to racism/sexism thinly veiled by southern good-old-boy charm. I got hit on by the bar tender at the Holiday Inn- a real catch let me tell you. I went to a fully nude (female) strip club, which was probably the hilight of my trip. Very interesting. The only problem is that now I'm mildly obsessed with going to strip clubs and dont have anyone to go with. Any takers?

I spent Christmas eve through almost New Years eve taking care of R, who was sick and puking and had nobody else to care for him. It was amazing fun spending several days with him- no breaks.

My car now has more than 200,000 miles on it. Not bad for an American car, a Malibu no less.

Maisie has a new boyfriend. His name is Matthew. He works for WDET. He's really nice. And 30. Oh well. I'm still impressed with how functional their relationship is.

She has decided to move to Oregon so we're trying to spend as much time as possible together. We've been attempting to document our friendship on video. Aparently we're not as funny when the camera is rolling.

We threw a party for our friend Michael's birthday. We made a bunch of Vegan desserts, adorning the fanciest one with candles we purchased at meijer. In a package they were arranged to say "baby shower" but, after several hours of anagram fun, we decided to put "whores baby" on the cake.

I recently decided (with Maisie and her boyfriend) to start a "band" that didnt play any "conventional" band instruments. Especially not the guitar. We will however play every instrument used in a typical elementary school music class- recorder, kazoo, sticks, castanettes, that weird circle thing with the metal beads on it, maybe the keyboard, etc. We'll call ourselves the Tone Deaf Trio. Ya dig?

The dirty martini is my favorite drink.

Lets see...what else.... oh- I'm going to Spain after graduation. I plan to leave June 1. I'm working on this TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) certification online so I can work while I'm there. Im also looking into intensive courses in Spanish. I'll be heading to Barcelona. Home of intense art and architecture and bunches of shit older than my whole country. I'm excited. Barcelona is divided into 6 districts, akin to the burrows of NYC. I dont know which one I'll live in yet. I have to do some research. There is a huge difference between living in the Bronx and living in Manhattan after all.

I still dont know what I want to be when I grow up but I wont wait tables. Under any circumstances. I worked my ass off for four years. I'm not an idiot. I'd like to be doing something that uses my brain. Is it bad to think, on the other hand, that I would practically prostitute myself to live in Spain. I guess when your life is that good all the time you can afford to have a setback of that nature.

My friend Seth at Columbia signed a 4-year employment contract with Lehman Brothers, a wall street finance firm. He got his signing bonus and everything. Way to make me feel like a loser, dude.

Alright. I think this is a sufficient update. I'd like to make more frequent use of this thing, I just dont have time. And when I do have time I've got nothing to say.

Enjoy the day everyone.
