Dave and I are hard up at the moment. To the extent that I am looking at my bank account and am trying to work out how I can afford to buy Dave his Christmas present. As for the fact that one of Dave's friends is getting married in Eygpt next month, and we were going to go to the wedding, and have our first proper holiday since our honeymoon (celebrating the fact that Dave can finally fly, now he's had his op), well, forget it. Then I worked out why our finances are so bad. It's because we are currently owed £3,240 by various people. I am owed £140 for Shakespeare tickets, including £104 by one person, who has so far missed two of the shows I bought her tickets for, and has supposed said to a mutual friend that she doesn't see why she should pay. She will shortly be disabused of this notion. £600 is owed to Dave by the Dragons. We'd hoped he would have been repaid by now, but the last event did not make the normal level of profit. Hopefully the banquet will make enough money to pay him back, but that's not until March. And finally, £2,500 is owed to Dave by the antichrist herself (otherwise know as his sister). She borrowed the money because she couldn't pay her mortgage a couple of months back, and has yet to show any signs of repaying it. Of course, her finances would be fine if she and her husband didn't live in an extremely expensive house, have 2 new cars, including a BMW, refuse to buy their food anywhere but M&S, only wear disigner labels, oh, and if they actually did some work and tried running their businesses so they made some money, rather than spend their days drinking, smoking and producing babies
